Dr Gunaruwan graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1996. He started cardiology training in the United Kingdom and completed a PhD in cardiovascular research in Birmingham in 2006. Dr Gunaruwan moved to John Hunter Hospital Newcastle NSW to complete the cardiology training and has been practising at the Gold Coast since 2014.
Dr Gunaruwan is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians and a fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand.
Dr Gunaruwan offers a full range of general cardiology consultancy services including coronary disease management, arrhythmia management, heart failure and inherited heart disease management, stress testing and stress echocardiography, echocardiography, and Holter monitoring.
